Jonathan Urges National Reconciliation, Calls for Peace and Unity

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has called on Nigerians to use the Easter season as a moment for national reconciliation and renewed commitment to the country’s development.

In his Easter message, Jonathan urged citizens to draw inspiration from the resurrection of Christ, which he described as a symbol of hope, sacrifice, and redemption.

“This day reminds us all of the sacrificial death of Christ for humanity and His gift of salvation and redemption to all believers,” he said.

Reflecting on the significance of Easter, Jonathan noted that it is a time to embrace the power of love, righteousness, and hope in the face of life’s challenges.

“At Easter, we reflect on the power of Christ’s love, the gift of righteousness, and the triumph of hope over despair and every challenge in life. The death and resurrection of Christ on the cross awakens us to the boundless love of God towards us — a reminder of the possibilities faith in God offers to us on earth.”

He urged Nigerians to recommit to peace, justice, and unity, emphasizing that these virtues are essential for the nation’s progress.

“Let us recommit to pursuing peace and justice for all,” Jonathan added.
