Governor Namadi Launches N5 Billion General Hospital Project in Jigawa

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has commenced the construction of a N5 billion General Hospital in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, a key move aimed at improving healthcare access across the state.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Namadi highlighted the project’s importance, stressing that his administration is committed to delivering quality healthcare to the people of Jigawa. He remarked, “Health is wealth,” emphasizing that the hospital’s construction will contribute to both the health and economic well-being of the state’s residents.

The governor also outlined a broader healthcare strategy that includes revitalizing primary healthcare centers, expanding secondary and tertiary facilities, and developing a new Diagnostic and Cardiac Center in Dutse. To address manpower challenges in the health sector, Governor Namadi pledged to equip healthcare workers with modern tools and resources. He urged contractors to stick to project timelines and quality standards, warning that delays or cost overruns would not be tolerated.

Governor Namadi further called on civil society organizations and monitoring bodies to support the government’s healthcare efforts, underlining the importance of transparency. He expressed appreciation to development partners such as UNICEF, WHO, FCDO, and USAID for their continued contributions, crediting these partnerships with enhancing healthcare services in the state.
