Gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Commences Action Plan On Women, Peace, Security

Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, yesterday launched the state’s Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security.
The scheme among other things will provide more avenues for women to participate in programs aimed at ensuring peace and security in the state.
Represented by the commissioner for women affairs, Mrs. Risikatu Bashir, the governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to the implementation of programs that would guarantee a peaceful society and secure humanity. AbdulRazaq said his administration deliberately appointed women into strategic positions of authority to enable them to contribute to issues that affect the wellbeing and development of the womenfolk.
He added that the state government had also put in place measures to ensure women’s participation in the peacebuilding process. Also speaking at the event, the president of the National Council for Women Society (NCWS), Hajiya Zainab Audu-Abdullahi, appealed to women to contribute their quota toward the actualization of programs that affect them. Earlier, the executive officer of Olive Community Development Initiatives, Mrs. Oluwatoni Adeleke, had called for the formulation of the action plan across the 16 local government areas of the state to make its implementation more effective.
