Gbajabiamila Denies Renovation Allocation For CoS Residence In 2024 Budget

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the President, refutes circulating claims that a substantial sum was allocated for the renovation of his residence in the 2024 Appropriation Bill.
Amid social media backlash asserting a N10bn budget for his residence renovation and an additional N10.1bn for computer software, Gbajabiamila clarifies on his official X handle that the 2024 Appropriation Bill contains no provision for his residence’s renovation. He emphasizes residing in his private apartment.
According to Gbajabiamila, the mentioned amount is designated for renovating the Presidential Quarters in Dodan Barracks and the Vice President’s Lodge in Lagos.
The renovation aims to modernize information management and communication facilities in the Presidency, along with providing vehicles for Presidential staff.
“It has become necessary to clarify that there is no provision in the 2024 Appropriation Bill for the renovation of any residence for the Chief of Staff to the President. I live in my private residence,” he wrote.
Gbajabiamila stresses the importance of responsible and fact-based engagement for a healthy public debate on government actions.
