Gastroenteritis Kills 23 In Sokoto As Illness Hits 13 LGs 

The Sokoto State Government has affirmed the occurrence of gastroenteritis in 13 local government regions in the state over the most recent couple of weeks.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Muhammed Inname, unveiled these in Sokoto, the state capital on Tuesday.
The affected local government area are Rabah, Wurno, Dange Shuni, Kebbe, Gwadabwa, Tangaza, Isa, Bodinga, Wamakko, Silame, Illela, Sabon Birni, and Yabo.
Inname, who linked the recent escalation to the rainy season, further stated, “The State Ministry of Health has set up two different teams to monitor and advise members of the public on the dangers of the disease.
“We have a case management team, where doctors will be going round with health workers as well as environmental response team that are to go round and educate those in the rural areas on how to engage and treat their water.”
