Former Governor Odili Commends Fubara 

Former Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for prioritizing the welfare of the people in the state, emphasizing the governor’s dedication to his ‘People First’ mantra.
Dr. Odili made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the dualised Omoku-Egbema Road project in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) on Saturday.
Expressing gratitude to Governor Fubara for the developmental projects in the region, Dr. Odili urged him to continue focusing on the less privileged and providing hope to those facing life’s challenges. He assured that Governor Fubara’s commitment to the people has earned him significant support in ONELGA, setting a strong foundation for future elections.
Governor Fubara, in response, affirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering development projects and social services without politicizing them. He reassured the public that promises made would be fulfilled within available resources and on schedule, addressing the critical needs of the people.
Regarding the inauguration event, Governor Fubara highlighted the importance of prioritizing the people’s welfare and ensuring positive impacts across the state. He emphasized his administration’s dedication to serving the people and fulfilling campaign promises.
Governor Fubara also expressed appreciation for the support received from ONELGA during his election campaign, acknowledging their contribution to his administration. He emphasized the significance of putting the people’s interests above personal ambitions in governance.
The road project, as described by the Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Works, Engr. Atemea Briggs, spans 21.6 kilometers and was awarded to Sectraco Nigeria Limited in April 2023. Despite initial funding challenges, the current administration mobilized resources to initiate and complete the project, with additional funds allocated due to inflation, totaling N13.07 billion.
