The police service commission (PSC) validated Magu’s elevation after he was suspended from the commission due to corruption charges.
After charges of corruption and abuse of office were leveled against him by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Magu was abruptly fired as the EFCC’s boss.
In a statement made on the 16th of May, the PSC spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, stated that despite being the most senior CP in his cadre, Magu had missed the past two promotions.
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba on Thursday decorated Magu at the police headquarters in Abuja, with Magu’s wife in attendance.
This is coming after the force confirmed that Magu had retired from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), having clocked 60, the mandatory retirement age on May 5.
