Fintiri Urges Qur’anic School Youths to Embrace Western Education

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has called on youths in Qur’anic schools to complement their religious studies with Western education, stressing that a balanced knowledge base is essential for personal growth and national development.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 40th Adamawa State Annual Qur’anic Recitation Competition in Yola, Fintiri lauded participants for their dedication to the Holy Qur’an while encouraging them to broaden their skills through modern learning. His message, delivered by Commissioner for Housing Development Abdullahi Prambe, highlighted the need to blend Islamic scholarship with Western education to prepare youths for professional and white-collar opportunities.

Fintiri noted that many state institutions now integrate both educational systems, allowing students to enrich their souls through Qur’anic knowledge while equipping their minds through modern learning.

The overall winner, Ahmed Abdulqadir of Yola South, will represent Adamawa State at the national Qur’anic recitation contest in Borno State.
