FG Launches National Electronic Asset Register to Boost Transparency

The federal government has launched a National Electronic Asset Register to enhance transparency and accountability in asset management.

Oluwatoyin Madein, the Accountant-General of the Federation, announced the development on Thursday via a post on X, stating that the initiative will provide real-time access to information on government-owned assets.

“The importance of transparency in asset management cannot be overstated. It ensures that we know what assets we own, where they are located, and how they are used,” Madein said.

She emphasized that the register would serve as a central platform for policymakers to track national assets, promoting accountability and reducing the risk of mismanagement, fraud, and corruption.

According to Madein, the initiative marks a significant step toward ensuring that government assets are effectively utilized for the benefit of Nigerians.
