The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays in observance of Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The announcement was made by Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo in a statement released on Tuesday by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo encouraged Christians across the nation to reflect on the profound values of sacrifice and love demonstrated by Jesus Christ during His crucifixion for the redemption of humanity.
“As we commemorate Easter, let us reflect on these values and offer prayers for peace, unity, and stability in our nation,” Tunji-Ojo said.
He extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians in Nigeria, wishing them a peaceful and joyous celebration.
Easter, one of the most important events in the Christian calendar, commemorates the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
