The appointment of some Nigerians to the Office of the President’s Media and Publicity Directorate has received President Bola Tinubu’s approval.
The Federal Character Principle and the Supremacy of Merit are fully respected in this appointment, according to a statement released on Monday by the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale.
According to Ngelale, the president appointed Fredrick Nwabufo as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement and Fela Durotoye as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Values and Social Justice.
The presidential aide added that Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Strategic Communications, while Aliyu Audu was appointed as the Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs.
Ngelale said Francis Adah Abah was appointed as the Personal Assistant to the President on Special Duties.
The secondment of Mrs. Akhigbe to serve as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, he said was also approved by President Tinubu.
According to Ngelale, the President delegates the responsibility to preserve the highest standards of decorum and decency in their interactions with all members of the public to all new appointees working in the Media and Publicity directorate.
He added that the President had asked the media advisers to support his tenacious effort to restore Nigerians’ faith in a reorganized economy and unified society that provides for everyone’s needs, regardless of differences.
