According to the Daily Trust, an anti-graft officer confirmed the information, adding that the “anti-graft agency took his passport as part of his release terms.”
Obiano was apprehended by commission operatives at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The former governor was detained just hours after handing over office to Charles Soludo, the state’s new governor.
There were claims that Obiano was planning to jet out to the United States of America before he was arrested.
Obiano was subsequently transferred to the headquarters of EFCC, where he was quizzed for days over alleged mismanagement of N42bn and inflated contract.
The former governor was granted bail on Monday but he couldn’t meet the bail condition.
Obiano was, however, released on Wednesday evening after meeting the bail conditions.
