Edo Deputy Governor Begs Obaseki For forgiveness

The embattled deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has pleaded with his principal, Governor Godwin Obakeki, for forgiveness over their political differences.

Shaibu, who disclosed this in an interview with journalists currently ongoing in his Benin City residence on Thursday, asked Governor Obaseki to forgive and forget. Governor Obaseki and Shaibu have been at loggerheads for the past few weeks over issues relating to the alleged impeachment plot against the deputy governor. Earlier this month, Shaibu was prevented from gaining access to a state-organized event where the governor and other leaders of the Edo state were present.

Speaking about the frosty relationship between him and the governor, Shaibu said he remains loyal to his principal, nothing has changed. I took a personal vow to support my governor, and I’m committed to working together with Obaseki for the development of the state till the end of their tenure.
