FIFA has announced the winners of The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025 following its annual ceremony held on Wednesday night in Doha, Qatar.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele was named Men’s Player of the Year, while Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati claimed the Women’s Player of the Year award.
Dembele, 28, capped a remarkable season by adding the FIFA honour to the Ballon d’Or he won in September. The French winger was instrumental in PSG’s historic 2024–25 campaign, helping the club secure an unprecedented quadruple. Under coach Luis Enrique, Dembele registered 51 goal contributions in 53 appearances.
Following PSG’s first-ever UEFA Champions League triumph, Dembele edged out Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal and Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe to clinch the award, further cementing his place among football’s elite.
PSG former goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was named FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year. The 26-year-old Italian played a key role in PSG’s Champions League success, keeping a clean sheet in the final against Inter Milan in May. He finished ahead of Alisson Becker, Emiliano Martinez, David Raya, and Thibaut Courtois to win the award for the first time.
Donnarumma also contributed to PSG’s domestic dominance, helping the club win Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions before completing a move to Manchester City in September.
The ceremony also unveiled the FIFA Best Men’s XI, reflecting a season marked by individual brilliance and emerging talent. The defence featured Virgil van Dijk, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, and William Pacho.
In midfield, Jude Bellingham, Pedri, Cole Palmer, and Vitinha were selected, while the attacking duo comprised Ousmane Dembele and Lamine Yamal, who appeared on the initial shortlist.
The 2025 FIFA Best Awards celebrated a season defined by historic club achievements, standout individual performances, and the rise of a new generation of global football stars.
