Broadway Dancer Zelig Williams Reported Missing in South Carolina, Family and Fellow Performers Appeal for Help

A 28-year-old Broadway dancer, Zelig Williams, has been reported missing in Columbia, South Carolina.

Williams, who has performed in productions of “MJ the Musical” and “Hamilton,” was last seen by his family on the morning of October 3 when he left their home. After 24 hours of no contact, his mother reported him missing, noting that it was unusual for him to go without communication. Family members have also shared concerns that he is in need of his prescribed medication.

Actor Hugh Jackman, who worked with Williams during his 2019 tour “The Man. The Music. The Show.,” took to social media to urge anyone with information to come forward. “ZELIG, we love you and are praying for your safe return,” Jackman wrote in a message posted to his Instagram story.

Fellow dancer Samantha Butts, who has known Williams for a decade, expressed her distress over the news. “I was devastated, absolutely devastated,” Butts said. “Everyone immediately started sharing the news and spreading the word because we are all so close-knit.”

Mishay Petronelli, a teacher at the Broadway Dance Center, described Williams as a talented artist and a kind-hearted individual. “Zelig is a beautiful human and someone who always wanted to give back,” Petronelli said. “It was special that he was teaching classes and sharing what he learned in New York as a professional dancer.”
