Bauchi SSG Resigns Amid Speculation of 2027 Governorship Ambitions

Ibrahim Kashim, the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government (SSG), has resigned from his position effective immediately.

The announcement was made on Friday by Mukhtar Gidado, spokesperson for Governor Bala Mohammed.

Although no official reason for Kashim’s resignation was provided, speculations suggest he might contest the 2027 governorship election in Bauchi State. However, his interest in the race has not been officially confirmed.

Kashim previously secured the PDP gubernatorial ticket in 2023 but later withdrew, leading to a rerun primary election where Governor Bala Mohammed emerged unopposed and won reelection.

Following Kashim’s resignation, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Aminu Gamawa, has been appointed to serve as acting SSG.

In a statement, Governor Mohammed expressed gratitude for Kashim’s contributions to the state, saying, “Governor Bala Mohammed, on behalf of the government and the people of Bauchi State, thanked him for the services he rendered to the State and wished him well in his future endeavours.”
