Atlético Madrid Reach First Copa del Rey Final Since 2013

Atlético Madrid booked a place in the Copa del Rey final for the first time since 2013, overcoming a 3–0 defeat at Barcelona to win 4–3 on aggregate.

Despite a commanding 4–0 victory in the first leg in Madrid, Atlético faced a tense second leg at the Camp Nou, where Barcelona staged a late surge with two goals from Marc Bernal and a Raphinha penalty. However, the Catalan side could not find the fourth goal needed to force extra time, ending their bid to extend their record 32 Copa del Rey titles.

Diego Simeone’s Atlético side held firm under pressure, demonstrating resilience and tactical discipline. They will now face the winner of the other semi-final between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club in the final later this week.

Barcelona’s late fightback fell short, as Atlético’s first-leg advantage ultimately proved decisive in a semi-final defined by grit and strategic composure.
