Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged Edo State residents to vote against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming governorship election. In a statement titled “The Clear Choice for a Prosperous Edo State,” posted on his X handle on Wednesday, Atiku criticized the APC for neglecting good governance and the needs of ordinary citizens.
Atiku emphasized the power of the vote as a tool for change, urging voters to reflect on the opportunity to move away from ineffective leadership. He accused the APC of making empty promises and prioritizing their own interests over the welfare of the people.
He pointed out the negative impact of APC’s governance, noting increased suffering and poverty. Despite these challenges, Atiku highlighted Dr. Asue Ighodalo as a candidate of integrity and vision, suggesting that his leadership could offer a new direction for Edo State.
Atiku also criticized the APC for its inconsistent stance on fuel prices and urged voters to support Ighodalo of the PDP as a step towards a better future. He concluded by encouraging the people of Edo to vote for Ighodalo and take control of their destiny.
