Atiku Abubakar Criticizes President Tinubu’s Fuel Subsidy Management, Labels Him “T-Pain

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has harshly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s management of the fuel subsidy removal, coining the nickname “T-Pain” in reference to the American rapper, reflecting the economic struggles Nigerians are currently facing. This moniker has gained traction on social media as citizens express their frustrations over rising inflation and increasing living costs.

In a statement on X, Atiku accused Tinubu’s administration of employing a “haphazard and disingenuous” approach to fuel subsidy management, which he believes is worsening the country’s economic crisis. He pointed to the recent increase in petrol prices, which have soared to N1,030 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and even higher in other states, as a primary example of the financial strain being inflicted on citizens.

Atiku emphasized that the escalating inflation rate is severely affecting the lives of Nigerians and lamented the President’s apparent indifference to the hardships faced by the populace. “The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country,” he stated, warning that there seems to be no relief in sight for the struggling citizens.
