Aregbesola Urges Nigerians to Back ADC’s Bid to Unseat APC in 2027

National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Osun State governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has urged Nigerians to rally behind the party’s mission to dislodge the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in the 2027 general elections.

Addressing a crowd of party loyalists in Osogbo, Osun State, Aregbesola said the ADC represents a credible, people-first alternative built on substance, service, and trust. He accused the ruling APC of driving Nigeria backward and said now is the time to restore competence, direction, and national dignity.

“We are not here to trade insults. We are here to restore what has been lost dignity, competence, and direction,” he declared.

Aregbesola warned that the APC would deploy misinformation, media manipulation, and smear campaigns to discredit the growing ADC movement, but vowed that the party would stay focused on its core mission.

“We know the game distractions, smears, provocations. But we will not play it. We are on a mission, and we will stay focused building quietly, consistently, and with conviction,” he said.

He described the ADC as a home for all Nigerians seeking a future defined by competence, inclusion, and compassion.

“This party is for everyone. We welcome you not as enemies of others, but as Nigerians determined to chart a better path forward,” Aregbesola stated.

He reiterated the party’s progressive roots, drawing inspiration from the governance model that once transformed the old Western Region and guided his administration through Nigeria’s worst economic crisis.

“We used those same principles in Osun and still delivered measurable progress. This is what Nigeria needs now: grounded, proven, and people-driven.”

Promising a new era of responsibility and restoration, Aregbesola said the ADC is poised to lead with clarity and conviction.

“The struggles of the past were not in vain. They’ve prepared us. The best of what we have to offer is still ahead,” he said.

He concluded with a call for unity and restraint within the party ranks:

“This is our finest hour. Let us not be baited into unnecessary conflict. Let’s remain focused on our shared goal: rescuing Nigeria.”
