National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, urging support from the South West to end the country’s economic hardships. Speaking in Akure at the inauguration of a 305-member National Campaign Council for the upcoming Ondo governorship election, Ganduje praised Tinubu’s leadership and reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s institutions for social and economic advancement.
“President Bola Tinubu is doing a good job for this country,” Ganduje said, highlighting Tinubu’s life-changing initiatives. He called upon members of the APC’s Campaign Council, led by Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to work in unison to secure Ondo for the APC in the November 16 election, noting the symbolic significance of aligning the state politically with Tinubu’s South West roots.
Ganduje emphasized that Ondo should continue its APC support to strengthen regional solidarity, adding, “How can your trousers be different from your agbada? It’s not attractive. It is not fashionable.” He stressed the importance of democratic mobilization, ensuring a free and fair election process.
Sanwo-Olu pledged that the campaign would focus on issue-based discussions rather than sentiments or insults. He credited Ondo’s incumbent governor and APC candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for making their campaign task easier with his administration’s numerous projects over the past year.
Assuring Ondo residents, Sanwo-Olu said, “They have not seen anything yet; they will enjoy even greater dividends of democracy than before,” expressing optimism about the APC’s vision for the state’s future.
