Former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has denied allegations that he accused Vice-President Kashim Shettima of creating Boko Haram, describing the claims as “false and malicious.”
In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja titled “A lie taken too far: Shettima, Ali Modu Sheriff are not on war path”, Sheriff urged the public to disregard the report, calling it a deliberate attempt to mislead and malign him while stirring political discord.
Sheriff clarified that he did not grant any interview or make any comments related to the allegations, labeling the publication as dangerous fake news. He reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s security and stability.
The former governor warned that his legal team has been instructed to identify those responsible for circulating the false report and stated that legal action would be pursued if the publication is not promptly retracted.
