Abia State Government Offers N25 Million Bounty for Soldiers’ Killers

The Abia State Government has announced a N25 million reward for information leading to the capture of the killers of five soldiers at Obikabia junction, Ogbor Hill, Aba.
On Thursday, May 30 unknown gunmen attacked a military checkpoint, killing five soldiers, burning two patrol vans, and escaping with the soldiers’ rifles.
In a statement, Commissioner for Information Prince Okey Kanu condemned the attack, extended condolences to Major General Taoreed Lagbaja and the Military High Command, and prayed for the souls of the fallen soldiers.
The government highlighted the significant investments made in Aba’s infrastructure over the past year and vowed to uphold security and peace. Authorities urged citizens to provide any information on the criminals and assured confidentiality for informants.
They also pledged to support the families of the slain soldiers, including educational support for their children.
