In the upcoming 2024 Mobilization Exercise, all eligible Prospective Corps Members are mandated to register for mobilization using their National Identification Numbers (NIN), according to a statement by Eddy Megwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
This decision emerged from discussions between the NYSC Management, led by Brigadier General YD Ahmed, and the National Identification Management Commission, led by Director General Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote, in a meeting held in Abuja.
Brigadier General YD Ahmed highlighted that this collaboration with NIMC aims to enhance the online registration process for the Scheme, acknowledging the efficiency of the NYSC Integrated system introduced in 2014 while emphasizing the need for further improvement.
During the meeting, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, the Director General of NIMC, expressed the commission’s commitment to this collaboration, praising NYSC’s mobilization protocols and its longstanding efforts in preparing Corps Members for leadership roles.
She anticipated that the partnership would streamline the entire mobilization process, addressing various challenges and contributing to the nation’s service.
