Police Arrest, Detain Former Senator Andy Uba In Abuja

Senator Andy Uba, a former senator who served as the representative for the Anambra South Senatorial zone and the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, was reportedly arrested and detained by the Nigerian Police Force in Abuja.
SaharaReporters reports that Uba was reportedly detained on Wednesday, April 26, by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) monitoring Unit, though the police are still withholding the precise reason for his detention.
Andy Uba, was also the former senior special assistant to former president Olusegun Obasanjo.
He’s either embroiled in a public, private, or business controversy. The last controversy that the former senator was involved in was over a debt of N50 million that he owed to renowned businessman Arthur Eze. When he refused to pay back the debt, some of his cars were seized.
He allegedly promised to pay an installment of N1 million every month, but however defaulted on his promise. However, when the matter was brought up in court, he denied receiving any loan from Eze.
