“President Muhammadu Buhari is back in Abuja after attending the three-day Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit in Istanbul,” he said.
“The official BBJ aircraft which he hadn’t used for several months as it underwent repairs and improvements landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at exactly 2:35.”
This was revealed by Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.
On Thursday, Buhari flew from Abuja to Istanbul for the third Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit.
The summit, which theme was “Enhanced Partnership for Common Development and Prosperity,” examined African-Turkish collaboration since the last summit in 2014.
The summit followed President Recep Erdogan’s recent official visit to Nigeria, during which he signed several agreements.
For the next five years, the summit provided guidelines and direction for collaboration with African countries.
During his visit to Nigeria, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed his pledge to immediately increase bilateral trade to $5 billion.
The Nigerian delegation also took advantage of the Istanbul meeting to strengthen collaboration with other partners to expand Nigeria’s trade and investment opportunities.
Buhari was accompanied on the trip by Aisha Buhari, the First Lady; Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Bashir Magashi, the Minister of Defense; and Mohammed Bello, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
