Tinubu Signs 2024 Appropriation Bill Valued At N28.7 Trillion

President Bola Tinubu has officially signed the 2024 appropriation bill, totaling N28.7 trillion, into law.
The signing took place during a brief ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday January 1, 2024.
Present alongside the President during the signing were notable figures such as Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Finance Minister Wale Edun, Budget and Economic Planning Minister Atiku Abubakar, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu (NSA).
Also in attendance were Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Senate Appropriation Committee Chairman Olamilekan Adeola, among others.
Tinubu endorsed the budget shortly after arriving in Abuja from a week-long holiday in Lagos.
 The 2024 budget, increased by N1.2 trillion from the initial proposal, was presented to the National Assembly on November 29, 2023.
The Senate approved the budget increment on December 29, 2023, raising it from N27.5 trillion to N28.7 trillion.
Key figures in the budget include aggregate expenditure at N28,777,404,073,861; statutory transfers at N1,742,786,788,150; recurrent expenditure at N8,768,533,0,852; capital expenditure at N9,995,143,298,028; and GDP growth rate at 3.88 percent.
