On Thursday, the Taraba House of Assembly passed the amendment bill for local government elected officials, reducing their tenure to two years.
Nelson Len, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, announced this development while addressing reporters in Jalingo.
Len highlighted that, following the necessary procedures mandated by the House, the bill has now become law. This amendment aims to enforce the two-year tenure for the upcoming set of local government officials, who are expected to be elected on November 18.
